What is Value-Added Tax (VAT)?

VAT is a tax on consumer spending. Most goods and services supplied in Ireland are subject to VAT. It is a tax that is considered where value is added to a product or service in each phase of it’s production. The EU charges this tax to those who sell within its borders and have passed a certain threshold of sales.

European buyers are used to the VAT and expect it to be in the final price of the products that they purchase which is why Feadóg Teoranra includes VAT in our final retail prices that you see on each of our products.

Under each product you will see 'Ex Tax', this is the price of each product exclusive of tax. This is the price that customers from outside the EU will pay. VAT is deducted automatically at the checkout if you are not a resident of the E.U.

The Feadóg original Irish whistle has been and continues to be manufactured in Ireland since 1978 and is now sold in more than 20 countries worldwide.
