10 Commandments of the Tin Whistle
by Joao Ferreira
Browsing through the internet I found out these 10 commandments to teach kids the tin whistle. Kids from beginners to more advanced ones. So, this article drives directly to teachers or parents who intend to teach their kids.
So, let`s get through each of the commandments that is sourced by Mary Prather.
1 – Thou shalt not play thy tin whistle thy tutor is speaking
2 – Thou shalt ALWAYS place thy left hand on TOP
3 – Thou shalt play thy tin whistle with “whisper air”
4 – Thou shalt not create discord or cause cacophony
5 – Thou shalt not use thy tin whistle as a weapon
6 – Thou shalt no purposefully annoy thy family with thy tin whistle
7 – Thou shalt ask thy mother or father permission to play thy tin whistle in the house
8 – Thou shalt remember to check for “Cheerios”
9 – Thou shalt use thy tin whistle chart faithfully
10 – Thou shalt practice thy tin whistle daily
I really like the commandments 1, 7 and 9. The number one because is really important to respect the teacher. Number 7 because is also great to respect the parents and the silence at home, sometimes. And 9. Follow the tin whistle chart and believe on it.
